Samsung believes it can reduce the number of cords in your house. The South Korean electronics conglomerate has announced a new monitor that can wirelessly charge your smartphones, called the SE370, the monitor is being touted as the first of its kind to have this capability. The SE370 comes equipped with integrated wireless charging station that can charge any device which supports the Qi wireless charging standard.
“Technology should support, not interfere with, active lifestyles,” Seok-gi Kim, senior vice president of Samsung’s visual display business, said in a statement. “Our customers increasingly rely on mobile devices to obtain information and interact with others; so by doing away with the clutter on their desks, we are helping them to use their mobile devices in a smarter way,” he added.
Samsung didn’t reveal a launch time-frame for the new monitor yet. But hopefully, it will launch by the end of this year. When charging your smartphone while using your computer, chances are it’s in another location, usually bedside, or on your desk with a dock or plain charging cables that really clutter your otherwise organized setup. With built-in Qi wireless charging, you can rest easy that you won’t miss important calls or messages but neither will you have to dance with cables. Of course, you’ll need a Qi compatible smartphone or accessory, but luckily those are quite common.
